Malmö University was founded in 1998 and is today Sweden’s eighth largest university of undergraduate studies. Malmö University has about 15 000 students, most of them in professional programmes educated to become teachers, nurses, dentists social workers and engineers The university is structured to cope with our ever-changing jobs market through a multi-disciplinary approach that crosses traditional school and faculty boundaries. This is also one of the reasons we make an effort to attract students that come from a background where university education has not necessarily been part of their tradition. Malmö University has four school and faculty areas, all of which are multi-disciplinary. The School of Education has approximately 7,000 students, making it the second-largest institution for teacher education in Sweden. The city of Malmö’s 280,000 inhabitants represent a culturally diverse mix of 171 nationalities and 165 languages. This diversity is reflected at the School of Education through the international and multicultural mix represented by the student body.
