Students will be assessed in many different ways throughout the course, including both science process skills, general competences, and topic-related content knowledge. Types of assessments will include formative assessments including observation, participation and and summative assessments such as a final project.
Assessments that could be done throughout the project:
Formative:
- Oral/written feedback from teacher (based on obseravtions, questions asked, etc.) throughout the unit, during the experiments and other formats of group work
- Peer assessment (during the final presentation)
- Individual worksheets
Summative:
- Product presentation (measured through performance, questions asked)
- Group portfolio on the product development (extended recipe, results of tests)
- Individual worksheets
