Learning Aims:
  • Investigate possibilities and limitations of the Bertolin system.
  • Stressing the importance of DNA profiling and finger printing
Materials:
  • Worksheet
  • Ruler, meter stick, writing materials
Suggestions for use:
  • This is a guided discovery, students can investigate the measurements of their own body to identify people.
  • Depending on the time available, the teacher can skip one of the activities 3.4 3.5 and 3.6. However, it is highly recommended to do at least one of these.
  • In supporting the students, also give attention to the process (how to plan the experiment etc.).
