Students should have a basic knowledge about materials and their importance, further on about a chemical bond and its formation, a rough idea (this will be specified in the unit) about the content of the concept of polymer, basic chemical knowledge from elementary school – nomenclature and properties of basic organic substances. Next, the ability to work in the laboratory and basic laboratory abilities and skills – dissolve the substances, work with a burner, heat up the substances, and work with sources of heat; work safety in a chemical laboratory.
Students should be able to search for links, analyse the task, create and verify hypotheses.
